War propaganda

11 years ago the former Yugoslavia "won" the war against NATO forces - at least that's what the government controlled media said to his blind followers. I don't want to judge anybody, just want to share some interesting facts about war propaganda/design/media that I used to watch and read back then:

NATO propaganda

At the beginning of war, the NATO forces had thrown thousands of these flyers above Serbia. It contains quotations from General Henry Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of US about how determined the NATO is about their goals, and Colonel General Momčilo Perišić, former Chief of JNA that are questioning Milošević's decisions and moves. This form of propaganda reminds me of those classic posters from WW II. and the Cold War, and I think it was absolutely useless, because most of the flyers doesn't reached where it was meant to land, plus they were immediately collected by the Yugoslav police and army.

Propaganda in Yugoslav media

This short movie was broadcasted at least 30-40 times a day on every state and government-friendly television and radio during the bombing of Yugoslavia. It used to represent how big and strong was the local army, however, we all knew that it was a David vs. Goliath situation. Check THIS article on Wikipedia for facts and more info about belligerent forces.

The front cover of Kikindske Novine, local newspaper from Kikinda, later printed on T-Shirts. We know that only sheep needs a leader, and this is a good caricature about people who believed the fairy tales how we won the war. (Pobeda=victory in Serbian)

This is just a little preview of propaganda that I used to see and hear live. I'm glad those times are over and wish I have never had the chance to live in all this sh*t. Like Erasmus said: "War is delightful to those who have not experienced it."  I agree: FUCK WAR!
