History Of Vandalism 31

In this series I'm trying to give an insight of what the "graffiti scene" looked like when I started writing at the dawn of new millenium... Some of these works were painted by me, some by my friends or crewmates, and there are also random pieces that I came across during my travels.

This is the final episode of this season, hopefully we will come back after the summer break! In this post I want to share a few photos that I took on few of our trips to Budapest, HU while I was in High School. I was amazed by the quality and quantity of works that we saw on the Filatorigát Hall Of Fame and streets of Budapest, not to mention the trains and lines.

Kikinda, somewhere around 2003

Rumours say there was a big chase during the making of this piece involving fast response units and "normal" policemen... Luckily, no one was harmed or prosecuted and although faded, but this piece still stands on one of the most frequent streets (actually, it's the main street) in Kikinda, Serbia.

Senph42, Kikinda, 2006. This one still stands, although in a very battled down shape. It can be found just across the courthouse in the city centre, but rumours are that this wall will be demolished soon...

History Of Vandalism 18

I found another batch of old photos, most of them dating back all the way from the beginning of my writing "career". I'm scanning the best and most memorable of them, so let's continue the "History Of..." series with a new episode every Monday!

Street art from Budapest, Hungary, 2003

The History Of Vandalism is going on a break because I ran out of normal photos or works that are old enough to be featured here; Once I catch up with other things that I'm busy with nowadays, I will try to continue the series. In the meantime if you have photos of my old pieces or something graffiti related from Kikinda or the neighborhood, send it and I will add it too!

Nov način, nov život (New way, new life) Graffiti Jam
Beograd, 2003

This was shot at my first graffiti related trip to the capital of Serbia back in 2003. The graffiti jam had two parts, mural painting (above) and painting a huge legal wall in New Belgrade (where I participated too). This is one of my most memorable trips, from the moment that I left my house til I came home.

HCK (NSK aka NSC crew written in cyrilic) - Subotica, 2002
I can't belive this bomb is 10 years old! This is from the time I moved to Subotica and quickly become a member of NSC crew that was the best compilation of different type of writers in the city! Also this period will stay memorable for me for many reasons, I had great time with great people that I'm still proud to call my friends!

Kikinda, 2002
Do I need to say anything about this? :D This started as a part of a big (illegal) mural on the main transit road in my hometown. I will also try to find the photo of the piece by the side of this Porsche, that took 2 days nights to finish. The second night a woman who was living on the first floor behind the corner asked us the writers to be quick and don't worry for the cops, nobody will call them 'cause they like what's being painted, just finish it asap 'cause it's late and their little kid can't sleep :D
