Daily Skull 02

I read on a few design blogs and magazines about this daily challenge but I always found some excuse why I shouldn't jump on that wagon. Now, that I'm working on a new personal project, I thought I should give it a try this month to see where I'm going with it.

I'm experimenting with different materials and techniques while sketching, then transforming the drawing on paper to a vector illustration in Ai. To have some reference point between the various styles and techniques, I have chosen a fix theme, a human skull.

Since this is just a little daily warm-up practice, I don't intend to over-complicate things, the time limit to these side projects is max. 15 minutes.

Today's process:

A few of you might know that I have a private tumblr blog titled "Failed attempts at living simple life" where I share random photos not related to my work (unlike my twitter and instagram accounts that are almost entirely dedicated to design and art). As I wrote back when I began the Cinematograffiti series, the internet is full with graffiti videos nowadays, and very few of them are original or outstanding. Even offline, the graffiti shops are full with various movies of questionable content: same spots, poorly shot actions and let's be honest, shitty styles. Big budget documentaries aside, I can't remember when I saw last time such a great video about train graffiti like the following movie, maybe the Dirty Handz 3 was the last one that blew my mind.
But now, lean back and enjoy KCBR's Live Life Like, the movie that accompanies the Swiss crew's book of the same title:

Dan Javnih Sluzbi 2013

Dan Javnih Službi (Public Services Day) is an annual event organized by Creativia Kikinda. The goal of the event is to present the work of different government organizations and public enterprises to the general public, and it's the only event of this kind in Serbia. The visitors had the chance to try out different equipments and vehicles and to learn more about the participants. This years slogan was "Pravi heroji Srbije" (Real heroes of Serbia). This is a short photo report from yesterday:
